Both magazines front covers, contents pages and double page spreads had similarities, Because of the similarities it helped me to point out the typical conventions of a rock/indie rock music magazine. The typical colours they use and the housestyle of the magazines let me understand what will need to be included on my magazine in order for the genre to stand out to the audience. The fonts used is also a convention that determines the genre of the magazine and show the audience clearly what the genre is. The style of the bands or artists is also a convention because they dress in dark coloured clothes and wear leather look or denim jackets to show of their 'Bad boy' style, also the more indie genre artists will wear clothes such as skinny jeans and a T-shrt usually with writing on it, therefore giving us the representation of them as a band or artist.
Usually the housestyle of the magazine will run continuoulsy throughout the magazine, making it a usual convention but the NME magazine did break that convention by not keeping a continuous font and colour scheme throughout the magazine.
